Welcome to the City of Pride!

The City of Riceboro has historic beginnings as the oldest existing city in Liberty County, Georgia, and home of successful rice plantations. The rice plantations, and the slave labor that powered those economic engines, were common in Georgia’s coastal region. One in particular, which still exists, is called, “The Lecounte Woodmanston Plantation.” However, from this complex history, the rice culture and the people who labored to ensure the viability of the fledgling colony and state have blossomed.
