Home Repair & Safety Assistance
Healthy Homes Program
The City of Riceboro has partnered with JCVision & Associates, Inc. — a HUD-approved housing counseling and Fair Housing agency — to help qualifying Riceboro residents fix housing-related health and safety hazards in their homes, including lead hazards, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and window repairs.
Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis while funding is available.
Why This Program Exists
A safer home starts with fixing hidden hazards.
Many older homes in Riceboro carry hazards that can affect a family’s health — lead-based paint, failing roofs, unsafe wiring, or aging plumbing. The Healthy Homes Program was created to identify and remove those hazards for qualifying households, at no direct cost to the resident, using funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), USDA Rural Development, and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP).
The program is administered locally by JCVision & Associates, Inc., a HUD-approved housing counseling agency and Fair Housing Initiative Program serving coastal Georgia since 2004, working directly with the City of Riceboro.
